So instead of one quarter style we have fifty. Well, that is just fuckin' great. Now to pay for something I have to be able to interpret hieroglyphics or some shit. They couldn't be elegant and tasteful, no, no, every state had to go and pack every single state symbol on their quarter. What's this? I need to buy smokes. Let's see... I got a cowhead, a diamond, a tree branch, a guy rowing a boat, and a racecar crashing into a schoolhouse. Will that cover it? Wait, let me get the Rosetta stone out here so I can calculate my change. Jeebus, can't we Americans do anything without being so goddamn tacky?

2. They don't match!
You're right that is a problem. One designer should have done them all so you could tell they were a set. Instead, you've got something that's hard to tell is a valid coin.

Also, why in the world did the federal government do something to "honor" the states? The states are the cause of many of the problems today.

3. And now the NICKEL!
Darn things gotten all fancy dancy. I reach into my pocket and I have to compare coins to an old nickel, if I have one. If it's bigger I guess it's a quarter?

5. Just like license plates !!!@!

Geez, maybe we'll have university quarters soon as well ;-)

Honestly, It's a good revenue generation program. It's one time when the mint actually DOES get to print money.

You see, if you print too much money, it just causes inflation. But the state quarters are "collectibles". So millions of people stash them away and take them out of the money supply.

So in essense, the mint (ergo the Treasury (ergo the federal government)) gets to "make money" that it will never have to pay back.

6. I like 'em,
am I the only one? Money should be interesting, especially since we don't get to hold onto it that long anymore.
