4. For groceries, I like paper. It results in fewer bags to carry.
And I can reuse the paper bags to line my recycling box, among other uses.

However, the cashiers always look at me as if I've grown two heads when I ask for paper, as if it's some horrible aberration.

I always take paper at the one bag-your-own place.

(And I can't stand it when they're bagging your stuff in plastic and put, say, two items in each bag and you wind up with fifty bags of groceries.)

5. Plastic is the standard now.
So that's what we get. I want to get out of that fucking line asap, I don't want to be wasting time asking for paper.
