Should Bonds have and asterisk * next to his name in the record books? |
|
He cheated, as did Giambi, Caminiti and McGwire. Look at pics of Bonds when he played in Pittsburgh. He was somewhat scrawny and never hit more than 31 Hrs a season. Hank Aaron is right. "Its wrong no matter how you look at it".

1. Should the others have an asterisk. |
|
I say no to all. But if they or anyone else wants to do it to Bonds then McGwire (andro), Sosa(cork and possible roids),Cammy, Canseco et al should get one. Bonds hasnt broken any MLB rules though, the period he admits to using was 2001. In 2001 steroids were legal in baseball.

then so should McGwire. He admitted that he was on andro, which is legal only in baseball. Besides, I don't like McGwire. No Bonds shouldn't have an asterisk next to his name, but if it is proven that he was on steroids and therefore cheating, he should be punished. But is being on 'roids worse than gambling on baseball, especially when the guy placing the bets is a manager? Maybe another question for another time, but pertinent anyway.

In fact, as far as I'm concerned, all records broken in the 90's are suspect. I thought baseballwas above it all....I don't think I can watch baseball for a time. This sucks.

Babe Ruth, Hack Wilson, Mickey Mantle and others used performance non-enhancing drugs, such as bourbon, scotch and gin. Should they get an asterisk because they weren't chemically pure?
