Poll question: Stupidest name for a diner dish?
The idea of a "fudge fantasy" is frightening enough in itself, let alone the cookie...

Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity - regardless of the tast, you have to say it! Roots aside, I don't want to eat anything "tooty"... brussel sprouts are bad enough.

2. We call it "hotdish" in Minnesota, too.
And be careful, buddy - I was raised on hotdish! Rice & hamburger, ham cheese & potato, turkey cheese & noodle, the possibilities are endless and you can put all your food groups together that way. :)

14. That's what we called it in MN also.
Our Wisconsin cousins would mock us. Called it "casserole". Said a "hot dish" was what a "casserole" was served in.

22. I got teased in Wisconsin too for my use of the word hotdish.
Tell your cousins they have it backward. The "casserole" is what the "hotdish" is served in.

21. Yeah! You said it!
There are many recipes for hotdish, of course.

My family favorite is hamburger hotdish. I also make a great chicken hotdish.

I am constantly teased about the word "hotdish" (born and bred Minnesotan here!), but I don't understand the confusion. It's hot. It's a dish. What's not to get?

8. That's PuPu platter,
and it's usually served with several small dishes, sort of like a Polynesian tapas, and almost always features a marinated meat dish served with small wooden pupu forks.

7. It Was TOM Carvel
"Cookie Pusss..... Fudgie the Whale.....To a Whale Of a Dad....fresh product....we do NOT use an air pump!"

My kid sister studied speech when she was in college. She was convinced that Tom Carvel had a cleft palette.
