| A bit of sad news: Paddy's great-uncle Ernst passed on last night. |

We got a phone call last night around 11:00 that he had suffered a massive coronary and died at his home on Chicago's North Side. He was 95.
Dr. A. was a retired physician and surgeon, and a Polish Jewish war refugee who came to this country in 1940, having escaped just ahead of the Nazi invasion of his part of southern Poland; all but one sister and two cousins subsequently perished in Hitler's death camps. Uncle Ernst married Paddy's great-aunt Ruth in 1942, and she survives him.
A private graveside service will be held this afternoon in Chicago.
"May His great Name grow exalted and sanctified in the world that He created as He willed. May He give reign to His kingship in your lifetimes and in your days, and in the lifetimes of the entire Family of Israel, swiftly and soon. Amen.
May His great Name be blessed forever and ever. Blessed, praised, glorified, exalted, extolled, mighty, upraised, and lauded be the Name of the Holy One, Blessed is He beyond any blessing and song, praise and consolation that are uttered in the world. Amen.
May there be abundant peace from Heaven, and life upon us and upon all Israel. Amen.

Just know that you'll both be in my thoughts today. It always is sad to hear that a little bit more of our history is gone with the passing of our elders. :hug:
