6. I learned how to solve it with a screwdriver |
|
1) rotate one side so that lt looks like it does in the picture 2) on the rotated side, pick one of the middle squares (ex. the green one in the pic), and pry it out with the screwdriver 3) now that the puzzle is missing a piece, all the other pieces will be loose. Take them out. 4) repack the puzzle with the colors the right way. Takes about 5 minutes to do.

15. It's nice and calm there in the wintertime. |
|
Take a lovely boardwalk stroll, have a Nathan's weiner. And call me if you want company, eh? It's only a 9 hour drive or so, and I haven't been since 1999. Sigh.

11. I knew a girl back in high school |
|
and she would just pick one up and fiddle with it and get the thing solved, while holding a conversation and hardly looking at it. It was cool to watch, but she would blow it off: "It's a thing I do."

14. Still got my Rubik's Cube |
|
It's the older Ideal model from 1980 with better quality axes. I've even got the solution book somewhere, but if you put a scrambled cube in my hand, I couldn't get further than two faces without the book.
You can take the cube apart, though - it's fun seeing how elegant and simple the construction is. Just make sure you put it together with all cubes solved.
Thanks, Erno Rubik, for helping make 3D spatial relationships fun.

16. I'm looking at mine right now |
|
I just came across it, the original Ideal model, so I dug out the solution book and fixed it. Time was, 1984 or so, I had memorized that book and could impress the hell out of people. I could usually do it in 3 minutes, and did it in under 2 once.
