Poll question: Favorite Lennon solo album
I just put the main ones here. I guess some might have liked the Wedding Album, but I don't think it would get many votes.
There are of course other things that have been released that you might like.

1. "Plastic Ono Band" is a masterpiece.
"Imagine" comes in a close second.

"Instant Karma!" is my favorite Lennon single, though.

2. Instant Karma is one of mine also
That might put "Shaved Fish" on the top of my list. POB is my favorite though.

3. As much as I like John Lennon...
...I was always annoyed by the "love me, love Yoko" package he was always pushing. McCartney did the same crap with Linda. It was too much for the so-called 'gods of cool' to be doing this Steve & Edie crap.

4. Hype wise annoying

But Yoko is an artist in her own right, unlike Linda (there are artists like Talking Heads and B-52's that site her as an influence). I think Double Fantasy is a very unique album that Steve and Edie, or even, Jessica and Nick could only dream of making.

8. I'm not knocking Yoko
I actually like her and her art. And, yes, I consider her an artist. But, when I pay for John Lennon music, that's what I want. Of course, this is way past revelant as an issue, but it still annoys me that he required you to listen to her by default.

13. Yoko's art is one thing. But her singing sounds like a cat being skinned.

18. i've always had this theory....
...in response to those people who like to scream "YOKO RUINED JOHN!". i actually kinda think it was the other way around. i think if she had never met john lennon she would be a more respected artist and could have avoided all of that beatles baggage. and if she had still made music i think it would have been looked at as a noble oddity or perhaps even interesting performance art.

that said, i always skip over yoko songs.

5. What, no Two Virgins?
Kidding, of course. Plastic Ono Band is one of my favorite albums.
The Toronto live album is pretty good too - well, one side of it anyway

10. Is 'Toronto Live' the one with 'Cold Turkey'?
I need to get that one. Rebuilding a collection from vinyl to cd is a lifelong task.

As for 'Two Virgins', it's right up there with 'Metal Machine Music' as a "statement".
