6. From PixiesMusic.com
"Largely responsible for the alternative music movement of the 1990s, the Pixies used a number of musical styles and sounds to create their own unique invention. Melding punk, indie guitar rock, classic pop, surf rock and riffs, the band created a sound that no one had heard before. This new sound laid the foundation for artists like Nirvana to rise to superstardom and opened the doors to a whole new genre of musical exploration."

13. I kinda got that.
But I did say, "Ask Me Anything!"

Cool about the rehearsal space. The best I can come up with is that I recorded at Daryl Hall's studio once :)

Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 02:05 PM by Melodybe
unfortunately it was canceled.

I am so jealous, we saw Frank Black and the Catholics and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Great line up too, lucky bastard.

8. I actually went to Coachella too.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 02:05 PM by tasteblind
And thought it odd they would open with both. And they've been playing both versions of Wave of Mutilation on this tour. So when they went into the slow version instead of Where is my Mind?, I was pleasantly surprised.

There are several setlists available at www.disclive.com , which is selling bootlegs of this tour. I have the Coachella one, which is permanently out of print now. It doesn't sound as good as it did in the crowd, but the boots are still decent, much better than what a taper could do.

28. I didn't go to Coachella, found the bootleg on the web..
.. and instantly fell in love with "Into the White". A sham that there's no recording available of their gig at Roskilde Festival this summer. From what I read in the reviews, they did a pretty show. And of course, I had a shift while they were on (I volunteer for the Roskilde Festival).

7. I saw them on Saturday...
They didn't play Here Comes Your Man. I know that's "the hit" but I still love the song.

They hit most of the other songs you listed though, albeit in a mixed up order.

Great show.

10. Saw them on Nov 11
GREAT SHOW!!! IMHO they were better than when I saw them 15 years ago on the Doolittle tour. Less tension, less expectation, just four people having fun making music. You can't beat that!

16. Saw them Monday in Norfolk....
and I'll probably be trekking up to DC to see them again tonight. They were better at Coachella in May I thought, but it might have been the venue. The Norfolk show was in a basketball arena, it wasn't really made for that kind of sound. They still rocked.

But they didn't do "Alec Eiffel" dammit!

18. They seem to be ignoring Bossanova.
I would love to have heard Dig For Fire or Allison.

Constitution Hall sounds awful. Saw E. Badu there last year, and the bass echoes everywhere in that room.

Coachella sounded great.

19. Yeah, I thought that too.
But from what I have read in past interviews Frank Black doesn't really like that album at all. They did "Velouria" though.

One of the best concerts I've been to. and they played my favorite song twice.(Wave of Mutilation) I was right in front of Kim, and I have kind of a straight girl crush on her now.
