I want so share a poem my son wrote
He has this project to collect short stories and poems reflecting different points of view about the war in the Middle East. The collection included courtesy of the Red, White and Blue by Toby Keith

This is one my son wrote

My Father

My father was a good man
He would always help me
He would always help others
I don't know why he died
A lot of other people died on that day too
None of those people did anything wrong
He was just trying to help other people get out of the
building
Then it fell
I don't know why
Why?
Why did the Americans kill him?

1. Is it autobiographical, SOleft?
Edited on Mon Sep-22-03 09:57 PM by BurtWorm
Or did he imagine it?

PS: It's a heartbreaker in either case.

You can't ask for anything more.

I wish such a poem had not been necessary to create, but it's far from a perfect world.

4. That's sad.
and too much harsh reality for a young kid to be questioning. I really like the poem, because it's simplicity and plain-speaking cut right to the heart. Sometimes you get tired of all the flowery speeches from adults about nothing.
