Unhappy with mom's Christmas gift, teen threatens her with butcher knife
http://www.greenforesttribune.com/articles/2004/12/08/news/s4.txt

GREEN FOREST -- Unhappy with the Christmas gift his mother had selected for him, a Green Forest youth allegedly assaulted her and threatened to cut her head off with a butcher knife.

<...>

"She told me that her 13-year-old son had just discovered that she had not purchased him the present he had requested," Hayden said. "She said he demanded she return the present and give him the money. When she refused, she said he grew angry and picked up a kitchen knife."

Hayden said the woman reported that she felt threatened and attempted to physically disarm the youth. At that time, her son allegedly kicked her legs and punched her abdomen with closed fists.

<...>

"In a post Miranda interview," Hayden said, "the juvenile admitted to threatening his mother with a knife, and he said he had threatened to cut her head off. He said that all would have been well if she had just bought him the correct present."

10. No way!
The only thing wrong with blue states is the heavy pollution. Funny that the most liberal cities are the worst offenders. Why is that?
Aren't conservatives supposed to ruining the environment? I can't see a tree for miles here in NJ.

are more industrial and have factories, large highways, office buildings and such.

Last I heard, Houston had passed LA as the dirtiest city in America. Sorry, Houston DUers...just reporting what I read. :)

19. Thank you for saying that.
I was a little suprised by the constant implication that if the state is red it is full of conservative fundamentalist, especially a state like Arkansas which Bush only won by a small margin.

28. California gave us Nixon, Reagan, AND Schwarzenegger
Arkansas gave us Bill and Hillary, and Wes Clark, yet because it barely went red, it is somehow suspect, and California is A-Okay?

The red/blue thing has degenerated to the point of juvenalia as far as I'm concerned.

29. OK, so some people need sarcasm pointed out.
It's making fun of the red/blue state media creation. "Red" states are supposed to be the heartland, the "moral center" of the nation.

Not one of us seriously thinks that these things can only happen in "red" states.

8. My favourite line:
"the juvenile admitted to threatening his mother with a knife, and he said he had threatened to cut her head off. He said that all would have been well if she had just bought him the correct present."

HAHAHAHA! :D

to celebrate christmas instead of Soccer Moms going out and buying 10's of Barbie Dream Houses.

22. Reasons not to:
Both secular and religious charities receive more donations at this time of year than at any other.

Seasonal depression is rampant, and having a holiday in the spirit of giving can help alleviate the symptoms without drugs.

Christmas holidays give college and high school kids a chance to earn extra cash.

Christmas brings families together more often than tearing them apart.

26. This kids problems - stretching as far as threatening to kill his own
mother - are not the result of Christmas. If it weren't a Christmas gift that set him off, it would surely have been something else.

17. The kid thinks it's all about getting and
doesn't know it's all in the giving. Seems to me that justice would be better served if he was getting an ass bustin' for Christmas. Maybe some over the past few years would have helped as well.
