I've actually been told on many occasions, "Wow, you smell great." I'm sure after a morning workout I can be a bit pungent, but that's what showers are for. :D

:D Those were funny ads, but it was common for people to bathe once or twice a week 50 years ago. :scared:

Seriously - I lived in the Netherlands. Once or twice a week would have been a GREAT improvement for many Europeans. I think most people can still smell just fine if they bathe twice a week.

16. I remember some French exchange students one of my ex-girlfriends |

families had---they never bathed. They used some kind of body deodorant spray in the morning on most days. They were truly very pungent. They could not understand why we bathe daily or even every other day. I found it rather disgusting, because I shower twice a day and personal hygiene is very important to me.

more often than women...For one reason ,they worked - and still do -at manual labor in far greater numbers than women..but typically, even then, they tried to exploit women's "need to please", which was (and is) to a great extant, culturally induced.

14. Ads from '20s and '30s magazines are the best |
|
I collect movie mags from that era. I especially love the ones for Lysol, where they advocated using it for "feminine hygiene.":wow:

22. Here's a site that refers to the ads (and yes, it's the same Lysol) |
|
http://www.mum.org/vagdouch.htmI'd have to dig my magazines out of the basement to scan them, and that's a project I can't tackle until after Christmas is over.
