6. She is a moderately talented actress with OK looks
made out to be a genius actress of unprecedented beauty. In my opinion only.

11. I really don't pay attention to hype. She could be over hyped.
I thought she was perfectly cast as the Narrator and Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings movies.

You're thinking of Cate Mulgrew. She played Captain Ryker on Star Trek: SG-1.

7. I am happily married, but...
I thought she was so hot in Shakespeare In Love. Unfortunately, she's turned blah'er than blah since then. And who in their right mind names her child after a fruit?

not the other way around. Am I wrong?

17. But she seems like a real person
I agree that she is not as beautiful as many in the press would have us believe. I think she is actually quite talented. What I like about her though is that she seems genuinely nice, with a strong relationship with her parents (her father died a year or two ago) and a loving relationship with her husband and child.
In Hollywood, that's rare

21. Exactly
She a decent person with an agreeable persona and a nice body. Her breaking the bench scene in "Shallow Hal" surprised the hell out of me.

24. She is an eerie reincarnation...
...of a young Peggy Lipton. I've always like Paltrow but could never put my finger on what the "wow factor" was for me. Then I saw some photos of Peggy Lipton from the sixties and early seventies and the resemblance between Lipton then and Paltow now is spooky. I had a HUGE crush on Peggy Lipton when I was a kid.

25. Daughter of rich & famous actress & producer...
Educated expensively. Steven Spielberg--a pal of her parents--put her in her first movie without a screen test.

A few years back, Vogue magazine canonized her as a fashion heroine in a cloying cover article; when Vogue gets cloying, it's really cloying! Then, she showed up at the Oscars looking like this:
