Does it feel like the Christmas season.... |
|
I usually enjoy Christmas a little bit.. but this year... I just don't feel "IT" at all this year. I dunno, Thanksgiving (although a excellent meal) just did nothing for me, although I did have a decent time due to an early Christmas celebration for a friend of mine being sent to Kuwait, and Christmas is really doing nothing for me... I just can't get into the "mood" for it. The over decorations as usual are not helping...

1. I can't get in the mood either |
|
doesn't feel like I should be happy, with so many people sad. for thanksgiving I had to shut off all the news in order to be happy for at least a little bit. maybe that will help? give yourself a break for awhile.

2. I usually need it to snow |
|
all we have had here is rain. Plus a Medieval Christmas concert we usually attend every year. I try to ignore the commercialism and celebrate in a way that pleases me and my family.

I hate snow. I come from NE, and have terrible memories of shoveling heavy wet snow in the freezing dark morning. And driving in snow is hell. Rain is not really pretty, but it doesn't require a lot of clean up.

maybe just cold with a few flurries then. I live in Pittsburgh, but I really don't like driving in snow, either.

3. I too am having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit. |
|
And I've yet to put up decorations. I am usually into this stuff. Now, I admit, a lot of this is due to my having surgery next week (12/5 - having a tumor removed - wish me luck). I'm going to be in the hospital for 3 days, and I'll be laid up at home for at least 2 weeks. I'll just lay low and do some reading. I'm just trying to be hopeful that this year of 2004 is nearly over and that 2005 will be a better year. I've heard from a few others that they're not doing as much this year. And oddly enough, there are not as many houses decorated in my neighborhood. You may be on to something. Holiday wishes to you, anyway.

4. Does not feel like Christmas either |
|
This has not been a good year, that might be why. I'm not decorating a tree this year, might decorate the house a little-- that is an iffy might. My shopping was done on-line but that is about it. I really don't know many people who are in the "spirit."

Somehow, I feel I need an attitude adjustment to get rid of my frustration and smile again and live again.

I am usually all excited about Christmas and this year I haven't done anything yet. Somehow, it just doesn't feel right this year...
