Need good headlines (for my actual job) |

Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 10:10 AM by eyesroll
One of my "action items" for 2003 is to get better at feature headline writing.
I truly suck at it. I admit this. One of the steps listed in my plan for getting better is reading good headlines, and books about headlines (or journalism in general).
So: Can anyone recommend a publication (online or print, any genre at all) that consistently has good headline writing? I know sportswriters are usually pretty good at this (the ones who don't say "Local hoopsters take one on the chin" all of the time, anyway), but I'm also looking for features.
Also, a book on the subject that would be available at a library (or not too expensively from the bookstore) would be great, if anyone has recommendations.
On edit: Oh, and thanks. (Sorry I forgot that!)
