Time for a secret confession..... |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 12:35 AM by FarceOfNature
I like the Shania Twain song "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" I dunno, I'm a small town girl, and this song just reminds me of the county fair from my childhood in a good way. I think it has great energy. I dunno, I don't really like any other country songs at all except the Devil went down to Georgia. If any of my supposed hipster friends found out, I'd never be able show my face around campus again! Anyone else feeling sheepish and need to purge??

Despite the usual impassioned discussions around campus, 99% of popular music has the value of novelty. Enjoy free of guilt and embarrassment. And trump your hipster friends with your hedonism and/or nihilism, laughing in the face of their belief in any innate value in aethetics, ha ha!

14. Barry's "Even Now" makes me cry - reminds me of my parents. |
|
They both died by the time I was 23 and there are so many times I still think about them and wish they could see whats going on in my life, my kids and now my grandaughter.
Barry Manilow - Even Now Even now When there's someone else who cares When there's someone home who's waiting just for me Even now I think about you as I'm climbing up the stairs And I wonder what to do so she won't see That even now When I know it wasn't right And I found a better life than what we had Even now I wakeup crying in the middle of the night And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad
Chorus:
Even now when I have come so far I wonder where you are I wonder why it's still so hard without you Even now when I come shining through I swear I think of you And how I wish you knew Even now
Even now When I never hear your name And the world has changed so much since you been gone Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same And the pain inside of me goes on and on Even now
Even now when I have come so far I wonder where you are I wonder why it?s still so hard without you Even now when I come shining through I swear I think of you And God I wish you knew Some how Even now

21. They may be hokey, but very few singers today have a voice |
|
that could match Karen Carpenter. It was a real shame that she died so young.

If so, your confession will be engraved in cyberspace forever.
Ok fine -- I'm a 31 year old guy who likes that Ashlee Simpson song. Maybe she lip synced the whole thing -- that way I'm actually a fan of some unknown, struggling singer.

I am all over the place on music. I have been known to secretly enjoy a Britney song occasionally, when I am all alone of course. don't tell.
