What first attracted you to your S.O.? |
|
Or spouse?
Me: his sense of humor and intelligence. I knew that Doug was something very, very special even before I saw what he looked like. :-)
You?

I first saw her moderating a gay-straight student discussion group during our college BGLAD week. I thought I was straight at the time but I was very impressed with her fearlessness. And beauty, though it took a longer time for me to realize how much I was appreciating that.

18. Her hot water. I was living in a hostel for draft dodgers in Vancouver |
|
BC. We had no hot water and had to heat pots of water on the kitchen range and carry them upstairs in order to take a bath. Due to the number of guys living there and the amount of time it took to heat the water we were lucky to each get one bath a week. I'm nutty about personal cleanliness and was severely disturbed by this situation. One fall morning I was sitting on the front porch waiting for my pots to heat. I noticed one of the young women who lived in the house next to ours was having trouble getting her Morris Minor started. I introduced myself to her and offered to help. I got the car started and as she was about to drive away she said if she could do anything to pay me back let her know. I told her I could use a hot shower and asked if she would allow me to use her bathroom. The rest is history. That was October 22, 1971. We were married January 14, 1972. We've been together since and I have yet to go a single day without a hot shower. My apologies for the length of my response.

19. His devotion to his cat |
|
Plus the fact that he liked to cook.
I met him at the grocery store where I work and he was a customer. Our first conversation was about his cat and I loved the fact that this big, masculine guy could get this goofy grin on his face as he talked about the cat he so obviously loved.
When I found out he cooked as well, I was completely smitten. :loveya:

21. At first? Her humor & (some of) her taste in music... |
|
...not to mention the fact that I'd had a crush on her years ago.
Eventually, I became acquainted with her amazing inner strength, her vitality, her (she'll kill me for saying this publicly) tender and generous heart, her ability to know what I'm thinking even before I do, her prodigious (if scatterbrained) intelligence.
She's also built like a brick hizzouse. :D

22. SO might still be a loaded word thus far, but... |
|
For the man I'm currently interested in, I was first attracted to him because he is funny, but shy at the same time. He's respectful, absolutely brilliant, sexy, and thoughtful. We understand each other in ways no one else has before and we can unapologetically be ourselves. He is beautifully built. Not to mention, he saw things in me before he ever knew what I looked like. I've experienced men noticing me for my external features many times, often not seeing beyond that. He did and my externals are merely a bonus. :D

Love at first sight. I moved on to more shallow things like the 6' blonde, nice legs and a very nice figure. When I found out she had a school bus I vowed to marry her:) I forgot the mention her girlfriend was trying to set her up with my roomate who was gay (he hadn't come out yet and was still trying to date women) so I figured I had a shot.

Can't lie, she has one of the best bodies I ever seen. Of course it was way more than her breasts that I fell in love with. After talking to her for a few hours about sports and politics, we found out we had very common interests. So after her breasts caught my eye, it was the rest of her that made me fall hard for her.
