Servers/Bartenders: Your most annoying customer of the year? |
|
Although I'm no longer a server, I still like to look back on my years in the business & recall those special customers ... you know - the ones who are always right? My ass.
So, for about 4 years I worked in a redneck biker bar/pub. One of my most memorable moments from a customer occurred when I approached a table of 3 guys & asked, "Can I get you guys something to start out with?" To which one Busch-in-a-can-drinking hick replied, "Yeah - one waitress, nothin' on it, to go please."
I'm sure you all have some much better stories ... for the public is so enjoyable to serve. Wanna share?

He would always talk about two lesbians he was after. They would lead him on and dump him time and again. And he was always getting a lawyer for some irritating reason. Drunk driving, public disturbance (falling asleep drunk in a public flower bed), failure to pay child support, and on and on. Man that fucker was irritating. And, of course, he was into All Star Wrestling. Always made me switch channels when it came on.

2. Watched a bartender tell some guy |
|
'hey you're depressing me with these stories.' The guy says, 'you have to listen, you're a bartender.'
The bartender picks up his drink, pours it in the sink. Pushes back the tip and throws $5 in front of him for the drink he took back. 'I'm no shrink. Go drink elsewhere.'
I missed whatever led up to it.

3. You must have more stories for us. |
|
We had a guy who would always hose down the men's bathroom when he got drunk. Sometimes he would even soak the TP for us.
We had a guy who fell straight back to the floor, chair and all, and just kept on laughing. Most nights he would just sing with the jukebox and dance, by himself, beer in one hand and cigarette in the other.

5. Just a bunch of little annoyances: |
|
Like when I'd ask someone what they wanted to drink & they'd reply, "Oh - I'll just have a beer" & then continue talking to other people at the table; when people would put their knawed-on chicken wings in empty beer glasses or the ashtray; having to clean a pile of cigarette butts out of the urinal; people who put a dollar in your hand & act like they're doing you a favor; and, those customers who practically lick their plates clean & then when I ask how their meal was, they respond, "It was okay."
Don't get me wrong - I actually really enjoyed my job & for the most part, my customers were great. But not always...

if I would sit on his face. And then there was the table who wanted to take bets on my bra size.

One guy used to try to stuff money in my shirt pocket - which would've automatically entailed inappropriate touching, if you know what I mean.
