WOW! A new low in telemarketing |
|
I got a call today from a Sprint telemarketer.
You are all familiar with the little "telemarketer gap" from when you answer to when their machine spools up? Usually I hang up right then. I decided to take the call and tell them that I'm on the do not call list. It was a recorded voice. That one pisses me off because it really is insulting. Guess what. The computer PUT ME ON HOLD to WAIT for the next available customer service professional. Holy shite! A computer calls and puts me on hold to wait for a telemarketer who is calling me illegally to try and sell me product I have no ionterest in hearing about. Just shoot me.

Please wait for an important message. OR: Please hold for our next available operator

3. This is a low, but not a new one. |
|
This has been going on with telemarketing for a long time, amazingly enough. Having a computer ask you to hold for the next available operator, when they are the ones contacting you! Too much!

5. Exactly, I get that shit |
|
all the time, too, and have for quite awhile. Debt collectrolls use that trick, too, unfortunately.

6. I got that 4 weeks in a row |
|
weeks that I was sick or had sick kids and was trying to catch up on my sleep. Finally on the 4th week I held and waited for the operator. Then I let loose and told them I was on the no call list. They told me that the name they had didn't match mine so it wasn't their fault. I've had this # for 3 years, so to me it just sounds like they've found a way around the do not call list - they pretend that they got a card with a name and this number.
I can't imagine that telemarketers have that high a return rate, but they must or else they would quit this madness.
