Xmas gift idea for a 17-year-old boy
I am at a complete loss. I know there are quite a few younger DUers here. Maybe you could tell me what you would want (other than a new car, of course), reasonably priced, so that I may get some ideas.

4. a 17 yr old girl? LOL
No seriously, I have a 17 yr old son. JNCO jeans are always a winner, video game of the moment and CDs. My son asked for one of those nice CD books that holds 100 cds.

8. Gift cert from Amazon dot com
in whatever amount you like. They pick it, it gets shipped to them. Everybody is happy.

They sell much more than books these days.

26. Amazon is a big puke supporter.
Give a Barnes and Noble gift certificate. That way the kid can go to a store or shop online and the money is going to a blue company.

18. Case of beer and a pack of smokes...
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 03:27 PM by primate1
Haha, nah, for real though, get him a dvd or a cd or something. Try to find out what kind of movies/music he's into and see what else Amazon or something recommends for people who dig that kind of stuff.

Also depends on your relation to the kid. If you're a parent, might want to aim a little higher and for sure he's dropped hints. I always just straight out told my parents what I wanted.

20. I was 17 not too long ago
All I ever wanted was $$, I prefer to have that then a gift, therefore I can spend it how I want and get what I want. Other then that I say maybe a Ps2 or Xbox game, maybe DVDs or CDs. You know what he likes right?

To Hot Topic, Best Buy, PacSun, etc.

I was 17 only five years ago, and that was all I really wanted back then.

30. Please don't support Amazon.
They don't support us. I'm giving my 16 year old nephew and 18 year old niece CDs and DVDs from Barnes and Noble this year. Gift cards from there are great, too, and the parents of teenagers sometimes prefer a gift card from a place that has a brick and mortar store because they don't want their kid using their credit card online.

32. Season pass to amusement park nearby
We always got our teens season passes to Magic Mountain..
and they always loved it..

If you plan to spend $100, just go to the bank and get a brand new bundle of sequential dollar bills ..

Kids always have uses for ones :) My boys also loved that one :)
