My dog got a squirrel today. |
|
I heard her out by the back fence, snarling and growling at something, so I started walking toward her. All of a sudden she dove down, and came up with a big bushy tail in her mouth! aaaggghhh!
She waggled it around a bit, then dropped it. (Probably too surprised that she actually caught the thing!) Then she dove for the fence again. By this time I’d gotten to her and could see the squirrel got on the other side, about 3 feet away. But it’s back was broken, and it was panting a lot. Unfortunately, I can’t get on the other side. Otherwise I’d get rid of it.

3. No ammo. Just her big pointy teeth. |
|
And her doggy hunting instincts.

4. my dog tackled a squirrel once ... |
|
... both went ass over teakettle, he had so much momentum... fortunately the squirrel got its bearings first and hopped up a tree. Hank realized where it was and THREW himself at the tree, but just missed the end of the squirrel's tail.
If its back is broken, IMO, it will probably expire on its own overnight. But then again, I don't know much about squirrels.
