Why are hot sammiches better when smooshed up flat, panini-style?
Even my famous "Mohammed's Breffus Truck Special" is better smooshed out flat on the foreman before eating. I dunno what does it. Maybe more food items ought to be served up smooshed flat?

1. It's not the flat...it's the CRUNCH!
and the melt...Yum.

4. Yes - I think you're on to something.
The crunch is good. I'm cooking a pork loin tonight JUST to be able to make Cuban sammiches tomorrow. The bread crunch followed by the pickle crunch may actually qualify as a tooth orgasm. ;-)

2. Why did it never occur to me to do that
with my George Foreman grill????

Thanks for the suggestion!

5. My foreman is used for little else these days.
It was my burger cooker of choice for awhile, but I don't eat burgers much anymore. Now it cooks kielbasa, presses sammiches, and toasts pitas. Pretty useful, I'd hafta say, as far as informercial kitchen gadgets go.

9. Foreman grill is very useful all around. Great for burgers. If you are
doing fish with it, doesn't work well if the fish filet is too thick, then you'll always have some uncooked (bleah). Thin fish filets work great.

...Just a foil-wrapped Brick :)

Works like a charm with ANY fry pan.

:hi:

And why are you eating breffus when it's almost lunchtime?

8. Second question first:
I'm lazy, and didn't make myself any breffus until I got back from taking Stangle to the vet.

First question: A MBTS is basically a bacon egg & cheese sammich, except that the roll is toasted with the cheese before it's assembled, and there's a layer of bacon stuck to the cheese on both upper and lower buns, and there's just enough yolk goo left runny in the fried egg to squish out a little bit when you take that magical middle-of-the-sammich bite. :9 Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Mohammed's Breffus Truck Special...

To make it a REAL MBTS, though, it has to be served with way-too-strong coffee.

13. Only if I get pulled over again!
And, since I now drive a red mini van as opposed to the red convertible I drove when the initial incident occurred, the chances of that happening are slim.

32. In VA, the interstates are already
patrolled by aircraft. It's one of my biggest pet peeves about that state - the damned highway signs say "speed limit enforced by aircraft." No. Not "enforced." "Monitored." Even in back-ass VA, they're not bombing speeders yet.

The feel of the 'squish' in your hand?

There's nothing quite like some good squish in yer hands. Except at the beach, when you get the wet-sand squish between yer toes. That may be as good as some quality squish in the hands. ;-)

And if you forget, the MBTS also makes a fine lunch and/or dinner. And midnight snack. It's diner food. Good 24/7. ;-)

I might hafta do that. I'll confess to having roasted an entire 13-pound turkey for myself last weekend 'cuz I didn't get enough during Thanskgiving. That, and I'd never roasted a turkey before. I made a fine bird. Half of it's in the freezer right now. :9

29. Gah! I almost lost
my favorite barbecue place (Allen & Sons) to a fire last year or the year before. It was traumatic. In fact just thinking on it, I'm a little verklempt.

But you can make a cuban sammich for yourself quite easily, with some pork loin, some ham, some pickles, some cheese, and some good mustard. And onion if ya like 'em.
