8. You have it out of sequence anyway.....
You have to raise and clean the child before cooking it.

4. According to this creation "science" fair winner, you are correct...
2nd Place: "Women Were Designed For Homemaking"

Jonathan Goode (grade 7) applied findings from many fields of science to support his conclusion that God designed women for homemaking: physics shows that women have a lower center of gravity than men, making them more suited to carrying groceries and laundry baskets; biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, making them the natural choice for child rearing; social sciences show that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; and exegetics shows that God created Eve as a companion for Adam, not as a co-worker.

11. Wow!
biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, Gee, Jonathan had to go out on a limb to figure that one out, didn't he?

social sciences show that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; And this shows that little Jonathan needs to work on his logical thinking skills.

13. This website is a must see!
Thank you for posting that link. Here's another winner from the "Creation Science" Fair:

1st Place: "My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)"

Cassidy Turnbull (grade 5) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

15. This little shit disproved evolution
I can't believe this didn't make the mainstream media:

"Patricia Lewis (grade 8) did an experiment to see if life can evolve from non-life. Patricia placed all the non-living ingredients of life - carbon (a charcoal briquet), purified water, and assorted minerals (a multi-vitamin) - into a sealed glass jar. The jar was left undisturbed, being exposed only to sunlight, for three weeks. (Patricia also prayed to God not to do anything miraculous during the course of the experiment, so as not to disqualify the findings.) No life evolved. This shows that life cannot come from non-life through natural processes."

37. What about the "ads"
I saw an ad for straightpride.com that looked like it was really selling t-shirts, and then one for Works Through Faith ministries, which also looked like a real website.

I thought the ads might be mocking the places? The ad for straightpride.com said "show your pride, get a bride. Have a womb? Get a groom" ROFL. But it seems like straightpride.com is for real.

And the Works Through Faith ministries looks real too, but they have it listed as W.T.F. Ministries in the ad - ROFL!

Anyway, I'm highly amused.

20. OMG, please tell me that site is satire!!!
:wtf:

I'm having some serious flashbacks to my childhood in fundieland. But this looks crazy even by those standards! Or maybe I'm just blocking the worst of it. (I won 2nd place in a similar science fair in 7th grade for "Are Cats Right-pawed or Left-pawed?" (I proved they were ambidextrous. Through no workings of Satan, mind you.)

6. I kind of wish I could......LOL!
I work from home to help support my family. I don't cook much or clean much, and my husband and I share equally in raising the children. It's a lot of work to run the house, raise the children with the attention that they deserve and need, and have two full-time jobs (less hours wasted in the Lounge here....)

I don't like the American rat-race approach to life. I wish that my husband and I could both slow down, work less, have fewer possessions, more opportunities to walk, and live in a country that values health care and family time more than "grow the economy."

End rant.

7. Fine, if their partners can bring home a 6-figure salary.
I'd be more than happy to work from home and not have to deal with the corporate bullshit for my mediocre salary, if any partner I had could garner an income to meet our expenses, 401k's, insurance, and still have free time to spend with us without bitching that he 'brings home the paycheck' and bemoaning everytime I use some of that money to buy tampons or something equally as 'frivolous'.

31. Some people think the sacrifice of some non-essential things
is worth it to be able to stay home with the children.

By sacrifice, I mean not having a new car or the expensive name-brand clothes, vacations every year, etc. I don't mean health care and such.

My mother stayed at home with us until we were all school-age and yes, we did without some of the luxuries that can come with a two-person income, but it was worth it to her, and later on I realized, to us also.

I don't knock either choice but I do feel sometimes that people's priorities are out of whack.

9. I do all my cooking at home. No problem.
But most of my cleaning is done at work, both physically and spiritually!

The cats do stay at home all the time, but they're old (14), and probably beyond needing to be raised.

BTW, I'm looking for a good house-husband. Know of anyone? :)

27. Why does it have to be a woman?
Men have organizational skills. They can be taught to cook and clean.

To dispute the little 7th grader about lactating women, well, men (on a stretch) can lactate too.

29. All I can say is this...
If this is true, women should ALWAYS get custody of their children; they should never have to serve in the military; the society should provide insurance, health care and pension funds to mothers ( or require by law that their husbands will) and I don't ever want to hear a single man tell me ( in person, on TV or in a book) how to clean my house, cook or raise my damned kids.

Fortunately, this is NOT true, so that means good fathers can get custody, American women can serve their country, women live in poverty due to no safety net ( which Repukes love. They adore the thought of hordes of elderly eating cat food. They must!) and Dr. Phil gets to yammer on to millions. Go figure.

33. Sure. No problem. Where's my guaranteed paycheck for doing
the very important work of raising the next generation? And don't forget the health care and pension.

It'll never happen -- unless MEN start doing it wholesale. Then, of course, it will become "a wonderful and important career path" and thus deserving of tax money from the rest of us. . .

34. Let everyone be who they are
We live in a country whose ideals value individuality over knowing one's born role. Our ideals support the desire of people to choose their own place to live, career, spouse/partner, social associations, and other important aspects of their life regardless of their standing at birth. Because of this, we should have no trouble supporting people's preferences in regard to gender. There should be no shame in men cooking, cleaning, or raising children or a married woman being a "breadwinner" or remaining single or being with another woman or not having children at all. Of course, people should not feel any less if they prefer "traditional" roles for themselves. If one is going to marry though, it is important that both partners agree of these things.
