2. I'm Hodge-Podge.
Born in the year of the rabbit. I rarely am the center of attention, and hide in the shadows of more popular characters, like Opus and Portnoy, but I can come up with a withering sarcastic quip when one is needed. And I bash the skins! I played drums in junior high band, and all my friends and I were in to Deathtongue, so I was christened Hodge Podge....

"Master skins-basher Hodge lives for only four things..."Chicks, Chicks, Chicks," and "Dough." But when it comes to drugs, this rock 'n' roll party animal 'Just says no.'"

7. Hey...Binkley's Dad was cool.
He was a Democrat but he hated Bill Cosby and had a Motley Crue record hidden behind the toilet.

of the televangelist variety.

TV preacher: "Someone out there has a leaky...kidney"
Binkley's Dad: "No, carbeurator"

11. I just ran across that one...
the other night. I have a couple of old Bloom County retrospectives right by the bed for a little light reading.

I'm still waiting for Emperor John to come along and kidnap me and force me into a life as a Whoopee Wench.

17. eBay
If you're not boycotting or otherwise concerned with their privacy policy (which you should be), eBay's a great source. I dropped $30 like a year ago for a set of "just fine"-condition books, all the Bloom County and Outland.

...Which now live in the guest bathroom.

20. For $10/year you can read them all at UComics.com
They're running through the entire Bloom County libray from start to finish at http://www.ucomics.com (they've done the same with Calvin & Hobbes). They alternate days - 1 day you get 6 of the smaller weekly strips and the next day you get the Sunday cartoon.

Last Sunday cartoon was when they dressed Bill up as Lil Orphan Bill (Annie). And they just started the dandelion patch, which is why I've put it in my sig line. Some days we just need to sit in our dandelion patch and contemplate!!

#1 Lola Granola

I do not follow comics much so I have no idea who these characters are. Can some one fill me in on these two?

29. LOL
Bobbi Harlow: Young, hip, modern, feminist schoolteacher; arrived in Bloom County to "teach the youngns." Dated Cutter John, lusted after by Steve Dallas. Cousin to Quiche Lorraine Phased out after strip changed focus. According to Milo, she "Cut off her hair when ERA failed. Cut off her right ear when ERA spun in. Last seen igniting a pile of veils and bras in downtown Iran."

(don't I wish I had the money, energy or time to go burn veils in Iran!)
