its tough, it does make me a more tougher person though, I am just sick also of black and white thinking that I see too much in GD, and I get frustrated and tired of it. There has to be a way between what I see as idealogical purity and moving to the right simply for moving to the right, I feel both ways are flawed to the max.

I just don't think he's the only pick for the job and any time someone brings up that they oppose Dean for the job, they're told oh you just want Brazile or something. Now I think Dean would be apt for the DNC job because of his ability to raise money and to give a strong voice to the party. If we can get someone who can do that, I'll be happy.

should be worn as a badge of honor. You know more, about more political topics than most "grown ups" on this board. Furthermore, imo, you are much more civil than many "grown ups" on this board. Granted, per the last comment, I may be biased - as I trend towards trying to be diplomatic myself (so the style resonates with me).

thats my belief more. Hey being diplomatic is the best policy, yeah it should be a badge of honor but its really annoying when people bring that up on you, for instance when I defended LBJ the other day, my age got brought up, now I hate what LBJ did in Vietnam but I refuse to ignore the good things he did.

for whatever reason, is hard for many to accept. I find LBJ very complex - was a corrupt and crusty good ole' boy politician (the stories of his power plays in the Senate are legendary) - but at the same time he used some of that power to bring some very important change on issues of civil rights (e.g., putting the screws in the thumbs of Wallace) and issues of poverty... but was also responsible for the bloody escalation in Vietnam. Very complex as a president, and his legacy, also is very complex. Hard president/figure to evaluate as a result. His positives were very positive - and his negatives were awful. Said to affirm that your view is shared by one who is much older than you. Don't let folks succeed in shutting you down by playing the "age" card.
