But then, I've never been a sucker for Quentin's 70's faux-cool, anyway. He's retarded.

5. Damn, you beat me to it |

I was just about to start a thread about this. Jackie Brown was a real let-down, so I'm hoping Kill Bill will be worth a tinker's damn. Tarantino's no genius as some fanboys might lead you to believe, but Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are at least in my top 50 movies of all time.
I thought Daryll Hannah was the lead in this movie, but I guess she's not. Unless she's the lead in "Volume Two"?

7. I liked "Jackie Brown"...loved Pam Grier and Robert Forester in |

the movie, and Samuel Jackson, Robert De Niro, Michael Keaton, and Briget Fonda.
Uma Thurman is the one who is going to "Kill Bill".

8. Jackie Brown was a COLOSSAL letdown |
|
DeNiro just...sat there. It was the worst waste of talent on record until Pacino and Walken in Gigli.
At least it breathed new life into Forster's career, but other than that, it was a waste of two hours. Tarantino needs to hit this one out of the park to win me back, and so far, it looks like he might just do that, if his reference points for this one are any indication.

10. "Jackie Brown" was phenomenal! |
|
Way underrated. Of course, it was a much different movie than "Pulp Fiction" and "Resevoir Dogs". Great acting, great story. Just a blast.
I first saw the trailer for "Kill Bill" on the "Gangs Of New York" DVD. Didn't look very promising. I just saw a teaser last night that looked hilarious. So I don't know.
Also, I've heard that there are actually TWO movies. Seems Tarantino got a little heat for it being too long, so he decided to split it into "Volume 1" and "Volume 2".
Anyone know where I can see some trailers for this? Right now, it's hard to tell if it actually will be good. I think it will.

I'm afraid I'm of the Gertrude Stein school of, "If you can't say it in 300 pages, it is probably not worth saying."
Why can't he make a movie where I can see the whole movie all in one sitting? Clearly I'm in the minority on this issue but as I soon as I found out that the story was going to be parceled out in two pieces, I made a decision not to bother with it. Where is the "wow" impact when it's spread out over months? *Just not getting it here*
