I know its been said before, but its worth repeating |
|
"The Day After Tomorrow" is one of the, if not the, worst movies ever made. Me and my sister did a ppv last night and watched it. For $3.95 for the both of us I felt ripped off. If I had paid theater prices for it I'd be outright pissed. It was more like a bad made-for-TV movie than a theatrical release. Far fetched story, predictable turns, unintentionally funny "horror" moments. It was just a bad, BAD movie.

With a little effort it could have been a great comedy.

2. it had its moments as it was |
|
me and my sister were snickering during the destruction scenes, like the tornados in Los Angeles where the guy watches his friend killed on TV while talking to him on the cell phone, and the debris hitting and killing the reporter. hee hee.. just so cheesy

5. ROTFLMAO, and I could barely type that! |

I don't think cheesy begins to describe it if it's THAT bad. It does sound like a Woody Allen gimmick...

It makes "Glitter" seem like an Oscar type movie.

3. If you saw "Independence Day" and didn't get the fact that... |
|
Roland Emmerich is a crappy, no-talent director on the same level as Michael Bay...
Then you deserve what you get when watching "The Day After Tomorrow"

The same sole reliance on special effects. The same truly cardboard characters. The same ridiculous writing and plot.
I haven't seen "The Day After Tomorrow" to know what kind of crappy movie it is.

9. The underlying premise, |

that of drastic global weather and climate change, was a good one. It would have been much more effective if they'd had the new ice age happen over a more realistic time scale, say 100 years, not three days.
The problem is, as always, that the people who make science fiction movies know how to make movies, but know nothing of science fiction.
