As a native South-sider, rooting for the Cubs is about as pleasant as voting for a repuke. However...since my beloved White Sox showed absolutely no heart agaisnt the Twinkies, and are out of contention, (I feel like throwing up!) I must (wretch....cough....cough) root for the Cubs? No freaking way!!!!! That's un-freaking-American. THE CUBS SUCK. (I really need some psychological assistance).

At least you got the Red Wings to look forward to. One of the funniest signs I ever saw came out of Detroit. It was at a Bears/Lions game, sometime post-85 and pre-Jordan. ALL of the Chicago teams were last place or chokers. A guy in the stands had a sign saying "Chicago-more dog teams than the North pole."

Cubs up 6-0 in the 9th.
Astros down 10-0 in the 6th.
So the Cubs may be in first tomorrow. In late September. :)

5. Good to see a true Chicago sports fan |
|
I hate it when people from Chicago say "I root for both the Sox and the Cubs." A true "Chicaga" sports fan only roots for one team. Cubs Suck!

Five more games. Looks like I'm also a Giants fan and Brewers fan until the end of the season. I'm just hoping the Cubs can outlast Houston.

8. Yep, the Cubs suck all the way into first place |
|
White Sox = south-side loser team with an ugly ball park...
Seriously, I had been hoping for both teams in the playoffs, then I could forget about the Bears for a while...

The ballpark isn't really ugly...just has no personality. What pisses me off the most about the park (I'll always call it "Comiskey") is that the architects who designed it also designed Camden Yards.
