Pardon me for thinking of my late great kitty but RIP Midnight |
|
Today's his third anniversary of being helped across the Rainbow Bridge owing to renal disease aka chronic / terminal kidney failure.
I am thinking he may have been smart to take ill with a kidney affliction when he did for he wasn't around to see the horrors of a world that had been BUSHED.

1. Here's to Midnight, wherever he may be |
|
Comfort to you on your loss. Pets are gifts from God, and their spirits always reside in our hearts.
If love was a highway, and memories a lane, I'd walk on up to heaven, and bring you home again.

My tomcat, Nigel, was poisoned by a neighborwoman in 1976. I had to put down the great Bess (QUEEN Of The Jungle) on the very day that US ground troops went into Iraq in 1991. And on the morning that Waylon Jennings died, Mr. Big (Thug Of The Known Universe And Supreme Badass) succumbed to a careless neighbor's antifreeze leak.
It is never out of place to remember a Great Cat!

3. Bet both kitties I had were DEMOCATS since |
|
they had a way of either dying or having to be "put down" shortly before a Bush took office as the American President, since Ginger died of unrecognized hyperthyroid syndrome in 1988 shortly before George Bush Snr was elected President #41

I lost two cats the same night in 1965. Many years later, I still feel their presence in my current 'fur children'. They know when Dad is down about something and they crowd around and just love me.

8. Now make do with giving "purr sessions" to a certain gray tabby at a |
|
certain cat lovers' specialty store. The gray tabby's name is Buddy Guy and the cat lovers' specialty shop is THE CAT HOUSE. http://www.thecathouseinc.com

It just so happens that I have a temp. living here. One of my dear students(sarcasm) decided that he had served his purpose, so she abandoned him when she graduated. Since three of our four children are former abandoned/alley cats, he fits in pretty well, but my old badger (term of endearment) is insulted that the new arrival doesn't genuflect in his direction (he's allowed to be insulted, I guess, at 23, he is still the alpha cat). The new visitor is a huge red/orange tabby and has the disposition of a lamb (a large, heavily armed lamb). I love them all, but would love to find a permanent home for Fred (the visitor).

11. The one that had to be put down due to C/ T KFS was a black DSH and not |
|
a tabby for the tabby I like going to see is owned by someone else. There was also an orange tabby who visited me when I was on holidays in Saskatchewan and I also liked petting him for the orange tabby was no doubt one of those cats who liked being petted, and at times I thought the cat may have been lost or abandoned, though he may also have been a visiting cat, belonging to someone else who had a cottage in Saskatchewan. .
Who knows? I may end up getting another kitty sometime next year.

13. You don't get a kitty, you know... |
|
They get you.
And it is reliably reported that a cat will never leave you until s/he has made arrangements for another one to take over their gig in all due time!
