BEVERLY HILLS, Dec. 13 — The Howard Hughes drama ''The Aviator'' and female boxing film ''Million Dollar Baby'' were among nominees for Golden Globe awards Monday, positioning them to compete for the U.S. movie industry's highest honors, the Oscars.

1. Maybe Scorsesse's academy ass smooching will finally pay off
I love Scorssese's classic movies and even more recent attempts at the same such as Casino. But when he trots out these blatant "Look at me Academy! I'm a serious director! See how epic my movie was!" it's just as pathetic as when a no talent hack actor does the same thing with some serious, hammy role. I love movies and I have no patience for this type of thing.
