Two Bumper Sticker I saw that made me smile |
|
I drive one county over to go to work, and it just happens to be a Repug county, so I see lots of "W" bumper stickers, etc. Also a good amount of Kerry stickers. For some reason these days, I assume all Bumper stickers these days are poltiical.
Well, maybe, maybe not.
Today I noticed two new ones that made me smile.
"I'm Pro-Accordian, and I vote!" - Car driven by an older gentleman, who I would guess has a dry sense of humor.
"I'd rather be reading BUKOWSKI" - Nice car driven by a pretty blonde woman in her 20's. This one intrigued me...

2. "Question and answer" This guy is Lounge material |

Bukowski (1920-1994)
he sat naked and drunk in a room of summer night, running the blade of the knife under his fingernails, smiling, thinking of all the letters he had received telling him that the way he lived and wrote about that-- it had kept them going when all seemed truly hopeless.
putting the blade on the table, he flicked it with a finger and it whirled in a flashing circle under the light.
who the hell is going to save me? he thought.
as the knife stopped spinning the answer came: you're going to have to save yourself.
still smiling, a: he lit a cigarette b: he poured another drink c: gave the blade another spin.

I have not read them yet, but he says they're very hard boiled and hilarious, with a real 'don't give a shit' tone to them.

4. Oh, I was not clear. I'm VERY aware who Bukowski was. |
|
I once published him when I was editor of an Annual Poetry Magazine.
I was intrigued by the Girl driving the car...

7. We were going 70 in a 60 on saturday...and behind us... |

was a Bush fan trying to get around around us. We were on I-35. Apparently only going 70 in the fast lane isn't acceptable, even though the speed limit was only 60. He kept waving and flashing us, but we couldn't go anywhere because of the traffic. And then he finally passed us, we saw the bush/cheney stickers. Of course we were happy we got a freeper a couple steps closer to a heart attack. After he passed, he was pointing us to the slow lane. Sorry dude. But as long as we're going 60, we can be in the fast lane, you idiot. Did our hearts good. Duckie
