Poll question: Tonight's flamebait debate: O. J. Simpson vs. Scott Peterson
Which murder case, in your opinion, had more of a shadow of a doubt than the other?

1. The poll should read: which case do you give less of a shit about?
That would be a hard question to answer.

2. Interesting you posted that. I thought about OJ the SECOND I heard the
jury recommendation today. I told a co-worker that they recommend death and she said "good"!! WTF?!? I said, OJ is NOT GUILTY and he gets DEATH.

I am not a fan of capital punishment.

6. As little as I have watched it I have to say the Peterson case
OJ was a no brainer.

8. Did he really murder his wife and unborn child?
Sad situation for both families.

9. Hmmm

To believe that OJ didn't do it, you have to believe

1) There where drug dealers or others who wanted Nicole DEAD

2) The was a vast conspiracy in the police dept to plant evidence
(they DID plant evidence, but not all of it, and likely only
some of the blood evidence, but maybe only 1 or 2 detectives
were in on it - Furhman and Van Adder)

3) Despite overwhelming evidence that OJ was a stalker and wife
abuser, he didn't do it.

To believe that Scott Peterson didn't do it, you have to believe

1) Whoever killed her (and her unborn son) heard on the TV about
the fishing trip and decided that would be a good place to dump
the bodies...

2) That there is a cult or group which gets it jollies from abducting
and killing pregnant women (or wants to steal their babies)
for some sort of bizarre satanic ritual... OR there was something
else in Lacy's life that made her a target.

To believe that Scott DID it, you have to believe

1) That he was SO good at killing her in their home that he left
NO physical evidence other than a single strand of her hair in a
pair of pliers... AND yet, was SO bad at telling lies that he
led investigators RIGHT TO where he dumped the body.

10. You also have to totally disregard the corpse found
a few miles away, in similar condition, a year or so before Lacey was found.

11. Yeah, that too

but I don't think this was allowed at trial, right?

There has been rumor (even before Lacy) that there IS such a
cult in the Modesto - Davis - Sacto area. And it wouldn't surprise
me to find out that others have been killed... not that this would
save Scott... he was LYING and HAVING AN AFFAIR! Off with his head!
(at least that seems to be the prevailing opinion of some of the
more shrill talking heads).

12. Not sure if it was allowed or not.
I remember she was hispanic, Or maybe her husband/B-friend was hispanic? Mutilated in the same fashion as well.

13. Someone once told me their theory...
...about how they thought O.J. was innocent or at least didn't act alone and I remember thinking that they had a good point to at least bring it to a shadow of a doubt but I can't remember it now. It was in like 1995 or 1996.

This could just be that I haven't followed the case, but I haven't heard of a smoking gun in the Peterson case.
