I mean, I thought it was fucked up the night of 11/02. But I keep getting surprised.

Indifference to hunger, poverty and homelessness. I see people lying on the sidewalks, huddled against the cold...and...nothing. I'm ashamed to say it, but to me it's just part of life now. Goddamn.

But, fuck. When Janet Jackson showed her tit on national television...the holy goddamned Superbowl...well, then. My goodness, people sure got outraged over THAT. What the FUCK? You don't care about the deprivation of others, but you do over some woman showing her BREAST?

A man in the White House who wants to oversee the ever widening gulf between the rich and everyone else...who could care less about the loss of millions of jobs in this country. Utterly indifferent to the working class, to the poor. And he gets another 4 years in the White House.

And now...people in a courtroom...cheering...over the fact that the state of California will kill a man. And right before Christmas, too! Happy fucking Holidays!

It just seems like there's this surface veneer where all is just peachy keen...we have cable television and DVD's and cell phones and our SUV's, and really, things aren't THAT bad, RIGHT? But...under the surface. Something is very, very wrong in this country. It's hard to explain.

This is hard to articulate. It may sound disjointed. Lacking clarity. But things...just...aren't right here in the United States today.

But yet they keep saying that the USA is the best country in the world...it's starting to sound a little forced. There's a country, I think Swedin, that has the best standards of living in the world. They don't have a homeless problem. They take care of each other. But people here are so worried that people are getting something for nothing, even if it's basic food and shelter, while they are "working their asses off." But might I just say that the more you get paid the less work you ACTUALLY do.
Bush's crowd thinks they've done something wonderful when they've hired illegal aliens to wipe their asses and cook their food. It's just ridiculous. And I want the fuck out of here, or I want a revolution to take it all back!
