My daughter scared the hell out of me today
Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 12:10 AM by gore42004
and scared her mother too. My daughter's high school track team had a cross country event at Rippavilla Plantation. www.rippavilla.org. Well toward the end of her race she and two other girls were nowhere to be seen. Coach, myself and my daughter's friend set out to look for them. This is a big place to look for someone. Just as we neared the tree line to the woods we could make them out. I think that has to be one of the happiest sights I've seen in a while. My mind was just full of all of the bad things that could have happened to them. Turns out they got lost on the course.
Edit for the name and link.

1. Mule Museum?
What the hell is that?

Seriously, having gone through stuff like that, I know the feeling of relief. Sometimes I wonder how it feels to NOT find the kid.

2. Yeah folks seem to worship mules
they have Mule Day down the road from Spring Hill in Columbia, Tn every year. I sure don't worship them, my dad made us work the garden with them, even though we had a tiller, tractor, etc.

5. You are kidding, right?
a 14yr. old kid lost in the woods, among rattlers and copperheads as big as your arm? I don't like the idea of her doing that stuff, but it would break her heart if I refused to let her be a part of what is important to her at this time in her life.

4. Bless your heart
There's a purpose and a plan to it all, that's what I always here. The purpose of the 'having the crap scared out of you' part of the plan is sure a mystery. Maybe it's preparation for when they really do go out on their own and you really won't know what they're doing every minute... and oh honey, you didn't want to hear about all that right now.

Give her a hug and treasure every moment!! I've only got one left in the nest and some days are very strange indeed.
