2. I Did That Last Month

with a big brass dead-blow hammer. I'd put a lot of force into it when I swung the hammer, but it glanced off the die and landed square on my thumbnail. The pain was exquisite! If I hadn't been wearing leather gloves, I would have lost the nail (which is still a bit tender, BTW).

putting the thumbscrews to a heretic during the Inquisition! A white-hot, searing pain that informs your nervous system of a serious injustice being perpetrated upon that portion of the body! I suppose a masochist could derive some satisfaction from such pure pain, but its pleasures were lost on me.

I did that last month when I was cleaning out the coffee pot and the tube ,that carries the almost boiling water to the basket where the coffee is, came off and blew coffee cleaning steaming water all over my fingers....MAN!
