I have to share this. My son is upstairs in his room with the door open.. |
|
and he is singing this:
Mama told me yes she told me I'd meet girls like you. She also told me stay away you'll never know what you'll catch. ...... ..... Surrender, Surrender, but don't give yourself awayayayaya ayayaya AAAAAAAA!!!
By the way, he's ten.
I'll accept the pats on the back now for exposing my kid to GOOD music like Cheap Trick instead of that insipid Kid Rock and Nelly shit.
:D

He stole the cassette tape from my antiquated tape collection. He also stole all of my Van Halen (the REAL VH, when DLR was frontman) from me.
He wanted to try out the Sex Pistols, but I had to nix that. :-)

It's the "I'm an ABOOORRTION!" line that would have, um, upset the neighbors. :-)

Proclaimers - Oh Jean Lyrics
I'd never been lucky with girls I confess Don't know who to blame for my lack of success Cause even with ones up the back of a bus There was always the risk of a slap in the puss
But Jean, oh Jean you let me get lucky with you
The first time I met you it did cross my mind The next time I saw you there wasn't the time The third time I saw you I thought that I would The fourth time I met you I knew that I could
But Jean, oh Jean, you let me get lucky with you
I love her, I love her, I love her
I want you forever I want you for good So I'm gonna treat you the way that I should For your soul and body my heart's gonna pound Even after the day that I'm laid in the ground
Cause Jean, oh Jean, you let me get lucky with you
Love her I love her, I love her

8. LOL> This reminds me of when my 8 yr old was cleaning her room... |
|
and singing "We're Not Gonna Take This" at the top of her lungs.
I have to admit that my taste in music is kinda dorky--I love Beatles, Springsteen, but also Carol King and Carly Simon. Luckily for my kids, my husband love rock and has introduced the kids to Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc.

Yes, he also loves James Taylor and Neil Young. He named our schnauzer Lucinda, because Lucinda Williams is his absolute favorite female musician.

But "Crazy Mary" is a Victoria Williams song.
And there's no relationship between Victoria and Lucinda -- I know because I wrote a letter to Rolling Stone to ask, and Victoria herself responded to say No!

One of the best bands I ever worked for. Incredible live and just the nicest people in the world. Used to take us out to dinner, get us drunk, hang with the crew. And that Robin...he almost gave me urges. Dude is way too good looking. Funny thing is, I never saw him pull a woman. Married, you see. Very happily. What a voice.
I even got to sing "Police! Police!" into a mike on the side of the stage. ;-)

I have a good friend who toured with Manson ( :puke: ) as his lights man, and he is now touring with Velvet Revolver.
He told me some grossss stories about Manson. Sometime, PM me and I'll tell you what the main criterion that Manson used to hire him. IT will make you sick.

26. That reminds me, for some reason, of the time my daughter was singing |
|
"Dad gum your hide, boy Dad gum your dirty hide..."
by Louis Jordan in the women's room at Macy's after seeing the circus at Madison Square Garden when she was three years old. She was wearing a clown mask that covered her scalp with rubber baldness and a bozo-style hair-do. I didn't get to witness this; my wife told me about this. But I still crack up when I conjure the image of this little tiny person with a clown mask singing Louis Jordan in the Macy's bathroom.

Cheap Trick Rocks!
You're a great parent! Our 2 and 4 year old boys like "Bad Medicine" by Bon Jovi and the other day the 4 year old did "the horns" when it came on because he sees me doing it when a good song comes on.
Kids are great!
