His newfound faith was highlighted on 1979's Slow Train Coming, a No. 3 hit that sold over a million copies; 1980's Saved and 1981's Shot Of Love also dealt with religious themes. They are clearly "informed by" the Christian Gospels, as well as the long tradition of other rabbis (considering Jesus and the original 12 apostles to be rabbis in the theological sense) advancing an ethical imperative within Judaism.

Just so nobody misunderstands me, I don't mean to say that the Lubavitchers are Christians; only that they draw from many ethical Jewish traditions, of which early Christianity was one.

I didn't think that Dylan would stick with the Jesus-simple. But neither would Jesus. IMHO.
