48 degrees in my neck of the woods here in sunny south florida right now!
Even the birds which you can usually still hear at this time of night on a warm tropical night have flown elsewhere. Not a nightowl one of them is singing out there or making any noise.

8. not complaining, our 37-48 degrees range here is to us like your 23 degree
s in NYC...(I hope you didn't have to walk through snow... a friend of mine who lived in the NY-NJ area used to tell tales about getting off the bus to cross the street and slide on the ice all the way over to the other side of the street while hanging on to someone else who was also sliding on the ice!)

6. I moved away from hell-on-earth - er, I mean Miami, in March.
Now happily living in San Francisco. I think this is the first time since then that it's actually colder there than here.

Low 50s here, right now.

But honestly, when I lived there, the cold fronts were the only time I was ever comfortable there. I hate the year-round sweltering heat there.

Glad you like California which remains, for me, a land knonw only through the television and books of fiction--most beautiful, I am sure.

31. Yes, I agree about Miami.

I moved to Atlanta from Miami in 1989. My name for that city was "the hell hole of the South." I grew up there, but it's not the same anymore.

long time to readjust to being back here when he came back. Yesterday I was complaining to my frieds about 69 degrees being too cold. Today that sounds like heavenly warmth to me.

29. I know ... that's because you are adjusting up from 23 to 48...
We ... are adjusting down from the 90s to the high 60s yesterday to 48 at 3 AM this morning and NOW at 6 AM to 44... To me it feels just like your 23 degrees feel to you! I am looking forward to adjusting back up to the 60s and 70s and 80s once again.

(By the way, I love the AJC online -- I think Teresa Weaver runs one of the finest BOOKS sections of any newspaper in the country).

39. The temperature has now creeped back up to 58 degrees and it is
forecast to go up to the mid 60s (then low 50s for an overnight low--which is better than the 48-43 degrees we had this morning) and then back up to the 70s for a couple of days before our next cold front!

If you want, you can recall the cold weather and make it go with you to wherever cold place it is that you are now ... even my two mini pinchers had a lazy time getting out from under their blankets this morning!
