5 Year Old Handcuffed At School For Being "Unruly"
<snip>

The mother of a kindergartner is outraged after hearing that her son was handcuffed by police at a St. Louis charter school.

Aroni Rucker said she knows her son has had trouble adjusting to his first year of school.

"But he didn't do anything to deserve to be handcuffed.

He is only 5," she said. "Suspend him or do whatever, but you don't handcuff him."

Sam Morgan, the principal of Thurgood Marshall Academy, said he wanted to teach the boy a lesson to try to improve his unruly behavior.

"I'm trying to scare this kid straight," he said. "I would not be doing my job if I were not trying to get him on the right path."

Morgan said the handcuffing happened only once, but when asked again later about the incident, he said the school's attorney advised him not to comment further.

3. It is not safe to send a child to school any more. They just want to
drug up a kid or scare the shit out of them!

This is riducluous!

If I am EVER lucky enough to have children I will not be sending them to provate school

4. Well, drug the bugger or chain him up like Hannibal Lecter.
What a freakin' joke.

Yes, restrain the kid, but then find out what the fuck is going on and deal with the damn PROBLEM. The kid's actions are most likely a SYMPTOM of the PROBLEM.

Why can't they figure this out? Or would it cost too much money, which we all know is more important than people? x(

if things like this happened in the pro-Bushista age? I do't think so but then I'm not an American.

It looks as if there's a plan behind it - other children have been handcuffed by police, also, something which over here ist just unimaginable. It really looks as if they want you to get used to the idea that anybody can be arrested at any time.

14. I didn't know they made handcuffs that small - regular sized ones wouldn't
fit a 5 years old. Would they?

17. Yeah they would fit....
My father is a Police Detective (voted for Kerry) and you would be surprised how tiny those things can get.

Is the asshat saying the 5 year old is a junkie? Or queer? WTF? What a fucker. He needs a career change. Security guard or Parking enforcement. :eyes: Sorry good security guards and good PEOs.

16. Hey...
come one now, he was just trying to make sure the child wasn't "left behind".

But seriously, it's not your job to scare the kid straight buddy. It's your job to run the school and provide a safe and inviting learning environment. I highly doubt handcuffing unruly kids is going to accomplish the latter.
