IIRC, no lobster/shellfish or pork for largely (note the "largely," please) the same reasons that kosher-keeping Jews don't eat them: they're considered religiously unclean. No gumbo or jambalaya because they contain pork and/or shellfish.
However, I'm damn sure that it's possible to get halal fish sticks, just as I'm sure it's possible to get ultrakosher fish sticks here in this city of 400K folks with about >1% Jewish population.

It's also possible to get halal pizza -- I know of at least 2 halal pizza joints here in town, and any place with a sizeable Muslim population probably has at least one!

I don't know why chocolate chip cookies would be out (enlighten me, please), unless Bozo who wrote the piece has gotten Muslims confused with some group that doesn't eat dairy products (like me)...

I'm also sure that wherever in the world there are McDonalds' in predominantly Muslim countries, the beef used is halal (wouldn't do to piss off the clientele, after all). As for here, why would anyone want to eat that tripe anyway -- no, I take that back -- I've eaten tripe, and it's not as disgusting as McDs.

As for me, I don't like cheerleaders, football, Wal-Mart, hockey, Home (We Violate the Canadian Constitution and Piss-Test Our Staff) Despot, pork bbq (I'd have no trouble at all keeping kosher if I didn't like ham so much, and one definitely does *not* barbecue ham!, television (I don't own a set), McDonald's or most other burgers, most shellfish, and I haven't been able to eat anything but those aforementioned kosher fish sticks for years (because of this little problem I have with them putting milk products in the batter -- a horrible, deathly dairy allergy!). I also don't believe in the divinity of Jesus (which is, one assumes, what Bozo the Clone means by "no Jesus"), and I don't voluntarily celebrate Christmas. My family does, but I never got into the Christianity thing, and, as my fiance will tell you, I'm forever reminding him that I don't want to be called even a nominal Christian. (With his being at least nominally Jewish, the topic comes up more than you might imagine.)
