13. "Internets" technically isn't incorrect.
The Internet began its existence as a way to connect existing computer networks to each other over huge distances, hence the name "Interlinked Networks". That mouthful was quickly shortened to "Internets", and then just as quickly "Internet".

Because the root words that combined to create "Internet" are plural, placing the "s" on the end is technically correct.

15. Absolutely not! Mock away!
Just don't mock any of us old hands that occasionally forget which decade we're in and slip out the wrong name ;)

Bush is ALWAYS fair game!:spank:

7. I didn't know anyone much referred to the internet
as the information superhighway. I have always called it the internet and that is working fine for me. I'll leave "internets" to Bush.

11. I wish "surfing" would die.
Who the heck came up with that, and can I beat him senseless? I've been an Internet user since 1988 (no web back then) and first heard the term "surfing the Internet" back around 1994 or so. I thought it was a dumb fad that would pass into history quickly, but keep getting proven wrong.
