What's a non-gender-specific synonym for "workmanship"?
"Work-person-ship" is a bit cumbersome.

3. I'm guess the "man" in it is more related to "manus," meaning "hand" in
latin, so it might not be gender-specific.

7. Thanks, all.
I think "quality craftwork" best sums up what I need.

Thanks again.

8. Good question
it befudles me! You could say

expertise, ability, achievement, art, artistry, competence, craft, craftsmanship, execution, handicraft, handiwork, manufacture, proficiency, quality, skill, technique, work

(got that from dictionary.com)

11. I'd suggest getting over hypercorrect PC concern with the term.
Its absurd to have a problem with it. Its a good word. In common usage it does not denote that the work was done by a man, necessarily, anyway.

Whats next, since you have already decided that you are required to edit yourself, where does it stop? Should we go through the libraries, should Shakespeare be expurgated to remove such supposedly offensive terms?

I give up, I guess, I am just a dinosaur, herstory has passed me by.

12. Flattered by the comparison with the Bard.
But no, I'm just a lowly copywriter striving to write a page that will make the funders happy. Got my answer, so have moved on to other things.
