Beatles fans: do you ever get sick of them?
I'm talking about people who've been into them for over three years. In Chicago there's that "Breakfast with the Beatles" program on WXRT that's hosted by that woman who's really into them, and probably has been since they were recording, and I just wonder how you could not be sick of them and their 150 or so songs after listening to them for at least two hours a week for like 35-40 years.

I should mention that I like the Beatles, know they did a lot for rock and roll, etcetera. But pretty much the only time I listen to a lot of their stuff any more is the annual Fest for Beatles Fans over here. You go there and there are people that are really into the Beatles.

1. I love the Beatles, but they're not the be-all, end-all.

It's music. If it's good, great. If it isn't, walk away. :D

4. I listen to Strawberry Fields, or I am the Walrus, or A Day in the Life ..
When I want to hear the ultimate artistry of John Lennon ...

I listen to Yesterday, Blackbird, Eleanor Rigby, and precious little else .. if I want to experience the best of McCartney ...

There is no set time or place for such excursions ... just whenever the urge strikes ...

5. ...definitely...I liked the beatles, but I always felt they were overrated
...I know that's just heresy to a lot of folks (especially of my era) but as to that time...I liked The Stones, and Crosby, Stills & Nash (&Young) much better...

6. I love the Beatles...
... and pretty much think they were the best thing ever, BUT I wouldn't want to listen to their music all the time (my desire to listen to them has waxed and waned periodically over the course of my life). In fact I haven't played a Beatles CD in several months. The urge will strike again soon though, it always does.

7. Yes. I was into them in high school and now...
I can't even take it anymore. I do dig that one John Lennon Christmas song, though.

8. Yep
I don't really like them too much anyways. Well, that's not completely true, but I feel they are given far to much credit in the history of R&R.

9. LA radio has a Breakfast With The Beatles program. Never miss it.
Fest for Beatles Fans sounds like a Star Trek convention.

There's like, this woman that does airbrush paintings of the Beatles and Kiss and Marilyn Monroe and what-not named Shannon, and also this guy that sells this coffee-table book of pictures of the Beatles when they were seeing Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I like going up to him and asking him sensationalistic questions about cult-like mind control:

Was there ever anything the Maharishi said that made you think he was...completely...insane?

When you were there, did you ever feel intimidated in any way? Were there armed guards or strongmen?

He actually answers them calmly in earnest.

But they've actually had some pretty good guests. They had Klaus Voorman one year, and this year they had Billy Preston and Pete Best.

12. Of all the pop music records that have been released,
the Beatles' "Rubber Soul" is the closest thing to a perfect pop music album. It never really seems to wear out its welcome. Can anyone name a better album of pop music, without a single "filler" song on it? You can get sick of anything if you have it too much, and this would include Beatles music. So the thing is to not listen to it all the time, just periodically. Fortunately the Beatles' catalog of songs is so large (over 200 I believe) and so varied that you can listen to different styles and eras of music - and it's all the same band.

14. I tend to listen to them in cycles
I'll be really in to them for a few weeks or months, then put the CDs away for a while, till I get the urge again. I can hear almost every one of their songs in my head, so I don't need to listen to them all the time.
