Santa Claus riding on a fire truck |
|
Is it just a Long Island thing, or does your fire dept ride around town with a guy dressed as Santa? They do it every year here.

1. They used to do that where I used to live, |
|
in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. But Santa kept getting tanked to "keep warm," so they ended it years ago.

3. It's been done every place I've lived so far. |

Combines Santa with that little kid rush to see a firetruck with all it's lights and sirens ablaze.
It's admittedly a bit of a ??? combination with me, but I like it regardless.

4. He came in on the train here! |

He came in on Monday evening's 'City of New Orleans'--- and THEN he rode the firetruck through town.

6. Seems to be a suburban thing... |
|
...if you've got a volunteer fire dept., then you've got Santa on a Fire Truck.
Never saw it in NYC...only since I moved to NJ small town.
