something interesting Ive noticed
ok pretend its 2004
Every 36 years there is what I call a "crossroads" in American history. 1968 had RFK and was a big crossroads, 32 years before that was the year FDR won and the beginning of the modern democratic party, before that 1896 IIRC was the beginning of the populist movement, before that Lincoln. Or lol am I seeing shit but I found this interesting and realized it in school when I was writting an essay for fun! lol yeah. I think this election is very important well duh I know but Ive read that the next president will be able to select as much as three supreme court justices. I really would like them to be like Earl Warren, William Brennan, and Thurgood Marshall, who happen to be some of my favorite justices of all time that is liberal. I am just saying this year is a crossroads.

1. Nah we come into these periods
every so often,

and these real bad power grabs (as we are seeing with Bush right now) every hundred or so.

Kudos, most people do not realize it

2. well maybe I am being unobservant
but I think the years 1860, 1896, 1932, and 1968 were important a lot, 1860= Lincoln, 1896= beginning of populist movement, 1932= FDR and the defining of the democratic party, and 1968= cant explain it really.

3. Whatever the numbers, I sure don't disagree that
...something big and important could be about to happen. Rev. Al mentioned it in the debates, a few weeks ago.... Ever since the Florida Election Theft, this country's been in a "non-military" civil war. Listen to AM right wing talk radio and the rabidly brutal attacks on "them liberals" and you might wonder if Weimar Republic-style street fights are going to be next...

It is really getting scary.

4. That divide was going on during the Clinton years too
We just didn't pay much attention because the right wingers weren't in power. The point is valid though, there has been a splintering off between the right and left that is rivaling the 60's.
