When he was younger and sang with pitch, he was a fantastic, soulful singer. On Blue Valentine he sings "Waltzing Matilda" and "Somewhere" and does a poignant job with each. He's been losing the ability to distinguish notes though recently. Could be an interesting approach to an overwrought song like O Holy Night for sure.
