I'm still nursing my youngest (who is 2 1/2). Now that he's older, it isn't as much of an issue because he can wait until we get home, drink from a cup, etc. I used to hate the looks we'd get when he was younger.

I once had to drive 8 hours with my month old daughter... |
|
...and I stopped at rest station along the highway, found a nice shaddy tree and plopped myself down to nurse her.
There were other people there, so I was discreet and used a crib blanket to cover up.
I over heard an older woman (had to be in her 60's and definitely pre-formula) say to her husband.
"She's nursing. That's disgusting!"
before they left.
Since when is feeding one's child disgusting?

There was one woman who, as an infant, had a clitoris that was so large that it looked like a tiny penis. The doctor convinced her parents that she would be considered a freak if they left her as is, as if the whole world is going to know what's in her panties! Anyway, the doctor just cut it off! She no longer has a external clitoris, so she can get sexually excited, but can't have an orgasm. Geez!!!
There was another woman with a similar "deformity" who thankfully was left intact. She lives as a lesbian she said she and her lover are quite happy with her tiny penis, thankyouverymuch.

I'm a omnivore, but I would much prefer that more attention was paid to how these animals are raised, while they're alive. For one thing, grass fed beef, that's hormone and pesticide free, ISN'T unhealthy. It's naturally lean and has a good fatty acid profile. Same thing goes for free range chickens and the eggs they produce. Fortunately these products are pretty available in Austin, although they aren't cheap.
HOWEVER, I would also like "acceptance" of us omnivores, who eat veggies AND some meat, by organizations like PETA. I was much more sympathetic to their cause when they weren't so radical. Now it seems like they scream MURDER if you aren't a vegan wearing nothing but cotton and shoes made of recycled rubber. Can't we just all get along?

I was vegan at one time and didn't buy leather. All I could afford was Made In China, which of course supports awful inhumane treatment of Humans. Everyone has to accept that everyone else is only doing the best they know how. You are right.:hi:

24. Average weight, average bodies |
|
It seems that people are either THIN, or FAT. There is no happy medium anymore. I was looking at a website yesterday that sells clothing made from organic cotton. The biggest size of their t-shirts was a Large, which they said would fit a size 12 - 14, but they had a note at the bottom of the page that they tend to "run small".
Now the average woman in America is a size 14. That means half of us are BIGGER. I'm not advocating obesity, but something's wrong when your "plus size" models are 5' 10" and a size 14. A size 14 on a gall that's 5'10" doesn't mean she's fat!
Sometimes I think we're getting better, but then I see almost daily reminders that everything is just the same. It used to be that the smallest size you could get in regular clothes was a size 6. Now there are women's clothes available in size 4, 2, and even ZERO. I think the overemphasis on thinness, rather than eating healthy and being fit encourages anorexia (there are even "pro-ana" websites) and pushes some people the other way. If I can't be a size 8, I might as well be a size 18!
It just galls me that Renee Zellweger looked so cute and curvy with her Bridget Jones pounds, but that's considered FAT. Now she's back down to her regular weight, where she looks like she could be blown over by a strong breeze, and among other things, has NO BREASTS. Jennifer Connelly has gone the same "too thin" route. She used to have a beatiful, old Hollywood curvy voluptuous body. Now she's just another Hollywood stick figure. ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

Nothing will make you gain weight like processed carbohydrates. She said she'd eat a dozen donuts a day. I'm overweight and just the thought of that makes me barf!
Actually, for people who have a "sweet tooth" and their target foods (those they overeat) are high carb, a low carb diet is a good start. I do not, however, approve of all the low carb products out there like low carb candy, low carb ice cream and such, that's full of artificial sweeteners. Low carb means that for a while, you eat lean meat and non-starchy veggies. It's not really so unhealthy.

Our society would be tolerant of most differences,pluralism... but A sane society would draw the line at bullying, abuse ,corruption and domination,of anyone that is not hurting others. That domination game people do to others is the real danger. And bullies are helluva intolerant,of anything they don't like..and they will not live and lety live either, and leave people who aren't bothering them alone, because they are the real social control freaks.
