I'm almost speechless, y'all! I just had 3 women AND their pastor (some flavor of Baptist) threaten to picket my bookstore because---- *gasp* ---- I stock books about human sexuality and others about same-sex relationships. I apparently compound my 'sin' by selling these books to anyone who's entered adolescence. :eyes:

I heard them out, then sweetly said, "The 1st one of you who pickets my store will find my pickup in your living room, just as soon as I can drive to your house."

They left.

The kids of the fundies need books to tell them about all of the things that their parents won't ever discuss with them. I am a child of fundies, and I'm telling you, I was told NOTHING. When we watched the "becoming a woman" movie at school, they told us to take the worksheets home and go over them with mom. Yeah right! My mom acted like she was embarassed to be looking at fallopian tubes and ovaries, never mind the rest of it!

I learned everything I needed from books. To this day, I'm amazed that I managed to turn out with a healthy attitude about sex, but those books were 1000 times better than what I'd have gotten from my mother.

If they come by again, ask them what the problem is selling something that is not illegal, then ask them how many slaves they own and how many wives they have or if some are women, ask them which wife number they hold in the harem since in Leviticus it states that we should all have slaves and we are permitted to have more than one wife as well.
