Do male stand-up comedians lack all imagination?

We listen to XM 150 & 151 in the car a lot during our commute. Lately we've been listening more to 151 -- the "clean" comedy channel -- because so god damned many male comics talk about nothing but their genitals in general and masturbation in particular.

Don't male stand-up comics have any imagination?

the ones that are funniest are usually telling self-deprecating stories about their own families.

I'm not sure if David Sedaris actually does stand-up, but he's hilarious :)

Well, okay, and Chris Rock.

There's always the sex part of the routine, like it's required or something. I've heard women talk about it too.

I think people have been told sex sells, so they believe it. I think it's terribly uncreative and way overused.

And, of couse, sex being the most cliche.
The best morning on XM 150 was when they played Lewis Black's "Black Album" in it's entirety.

anything from the Just For Laughs comedy festival...there are some brilliant stand up comedians who aren't into bathroom/fart humour.
