Since there seems to be a few topics about various ingested chemicals, I thought I'd solicit opinions on E.
Personally, I've tried it a couple of times, both times with my wife. It made us both feel sort of dizzy, in a pleasant way though, and we both became very clammy. And chatty! The second time we tried it, we were camping in my RV and we ended up talking, drinking water and playing scrabble for almost 16 hours straight! Which is weird, as normally I am a quiet one. But those talks we had were some of the best talks and we felt very close to each other.
The downside? The teeth grinding, and the headaches! Once the high wore off, we both got these pounding headaches in the back of our heads. I rarely get headaches so I found this alarming. That is why I haven't pursued it any further.
Anyone else?

I had some really great times while using it. Luckily, I didn't have any bad experiences at all. Some of my friends just can't do it, they get really sick and it wasn't fun at all for them.
I was a big raver, dance club kid, and I could dance all night on that shit.
It did fuck me up though a bit after using it. Like weeks later, I would feel all depressed and a tad crazy but I knew it was only the drug. I wasn't really going crazy. After I stopped using for awhile, those feelings went away.
I think that everyone should experience it at least once. It brought out a side to me that needed to 'come out'. It opened my mind up to a lot of different and rewarding experiences.
I can't do it any longer. I don't think my body or mind would be able to handle it. But I had my fun with it.

I agree in that I think everyone should try it once. I've always considered myself an extreme introvert, and I was amazed at how much of a blabbermouth I became. It literally felt like this 'block' between my brain an my mouth was released. My wife and I really bonded over the experience, and the feelings we explored lasted long after the chemical wore off. I'd probably do it again if things got shaky between us.

6. It is a bonding experience with the people you use it with |
|
I heard back in the 70's before they knew of some of the bad effects, doctors used it in for people who had traumatic stress disorder, to try to get them to open up and talk about their situation.

4. Yeah, I was aware about the holes thing |

Those pictures are a tad disturbing. But they go a long way in getting people not to do it. At least I hope they do.
But I still think that everyone should try it once.

12. that study was disproven, if I'm not mistaken, and mdma itself, has |
|
not killed one single person. in combinations with other drugs/alcohol, it has...but alone, it's pretty harmless.
I'm looking for a link right now about that study...

24. yeh, did you see that abc special |
|
on ecstacy a few months back?
an hour long peter jennings special and they concluded that the biggest danger of mdma is that "overtime" and "with repeated use" it "may" lower your serotonin levels by 5%.
otherwise, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. had tons of specialists on talking about it in a positive light. i was shocked quite honestly.

Interesting, but I think in any testing you will have some contested results. I don't know that it's worth it to use E. As one person put it in that thread, to "play russian roulette" with your brain with a drug where the results and side effects are still fairly sketchy and unknown/unproven/contested... kinda creeps me out a bit. That's a personal decision and I am not going to be hypocritical, telling people to "STOP IT RIGHT NOW OH MY GOD", because I have done things that are also not necessarily "legal" as well.

25. bottom line, that study was used to form policy on E, and was proven |
|
false. no person has ever died from using E, alone. E was perfectly legal here until the late 80's...once they found out it made you feel good. Alcohol kills more people than any other drug.

8. Question...what makes the bzz any different than mesculine, LSD, or acid? |
|
Just wondering... because the way the buzz is described it sounds somewhat similar (Not that I would know of course...but I did grow up in the 70's so I'm just asking lol)

Having no experience with other drugs, I can't compare, I can definitely describe how I felt, it took about 45 minutes to kick in from time of ingestion, comes on sort of like a rush, you start feeling tingly, your head spins, you get smiley and happy, thirsty and talkative. The first time I stood up to pee, I felt woozy, like I had taken 4 Tylenol PMs or something, felt fine after sitting back down. Time just seemed to fly. It was very enjoyable for the most part, it was a very intense experience.

as you know are hard-core hallucinogens, which differ from ecstasy in the sense that x promotes feelings of warmth and well-being in people, where it's possible to have a horrible experience with lSD or mes.
i haven't really heard of anyone having a bad experience with the drug other than the normal headaches caused by teeth grinding...if you take typtophan before ingesting the x, it will increase your seratonin levels to compensate for the deficit hangover effect.

|
My friend Steve took X three different times, each time it was a different kind of pill and all three times he became really stomach sick, sweating, dizziness, nothing too too serious but bad enough to make his experience a bad one.

10. I have a good X story, back from the "Businessman's Lunch" days > |
|
A dear friend of mine got a gov't grant to study, um, I'm not sure what, at Argonne National Lab one summer.
He dedicated some of the money and lab resources to synthisizing absolutely pure MDMA (is that X? Not sure.)
Anyway, once produced, he carefully adminstered it to a circle of friends. My god. Did we love each other? We were brutally honest and totally forgiving. Also, we could dance the night away (this during the "New Wave" explosion: Talking Heads, Roxy Music et al).

That was my fave part about it, well that and how happy, in touch (for lack of a better word) with my self.
Everything in my life just seemed to clarify itself in the moments I was on X. I hope you know what I mean and that I don't sound too crazy.

MDA, however, was quite available years ago (before X) and it was a lot of fun. They used to manufacture it in the local university chem labs. I never knew how they made it, but I was told it was not terribly difficult to make.
Was a nice kind of speedy high with just enough altered perceptions to make it fun. GREAT to take to go clubbing, and most excellent for sex.
I dunno if X is better or not, but MDA was a whole lotta fun.
