Truly disturbing news for Van Morrison fans
On last nites ET (Entertainment Tonight) was a clip of the chimp saying (paraphrasing) On his bike he likes to blast down the trail while listening to Van Morrison on his I-Pod. This is extremely disturbing news-- heart breaking news.. for myself and spouse, both devout Van fans (over his entire carreer).
It would be like finding out the chimp was a devoted Dead Head or Prince fan.(?)

We hate the idea that the chimp listens to Van... Hate IT!

1. He doesn't "blast down the trail", okay?
so maybe he's hearing some other tunes.

6. Excellent point! The chimp lies constantly
The mere fact that he mentioned Van Morrison means HE HAS NO IDEA WHO VAN MORRISON REALLY IS!

Every day is opposite day in chimp-land. We all know that he really listens to Wayne Newton while watching "The Gong Show" reruns on TV when he's supposed to be reading reports.

3. So, bush probably likes some of the same foods I do.

I'm not losing sleep over that.

Sheesh, I thought you were gonna say he was a pedophile or something. Whew.

Edited for clarity.

4. Psst.. Bush is a liar.
He has NEVER told the truth. I'd bet big money he doesn't listen to music at all. Either that, or he meant to say Van Halen.

5. Isn't Morrison kind of a fundie?
I love his music, particularly "Into the Mystic", but he does a lot of religious songs, too.

7. Being religious does not equate with being a fundie

10. He probably meant Van Halen !
You know how he has a hard time with speech, always sayin' the wrong thing. He wouldn't "get" Van Morrison, it's too hippy like for him. I'm sure he meant Van Halen !

17. It's mutual, though, isn't it?
Didn't Ricky do some song and dance for bush once at a tribute or fundraiser or something?

21. I can't recall if he did
If Ricky did do a song and dance for Dubya, hopefully Ashcroft wasn't there with him (dancing being a sin, you know ;-) )

19. I thought that in 2000 there was a rumor about Van Morrison playing
at the chimp's inaugural. I think that rumor was quickly shot down by Morrison

20. That give me an idea!
Someone should upload the "Rock Against Bush" tracks with Van Morrison titles to the Apple website for Bush to download.

"Gee, Van, after all the good things I said about you..."

18. "Gloria" probably brings him fond memories of his drunken frat-boy days
He needs to hear Van spelling Gloria's name over and over and over just to get it right.

24. What the hell did "The Talibans" do,
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 01:04 AM by Dirk39
not to be his favourite pop-group anymore? Must be just a puberty-crisis... Nothing serious.
Or is it the Chimp's evil plan to unite Scientology and the fundamentalist christians?

Or to put it the other way round: was Wagner a Nazi?
Nobody knows...
May the Chimp just use his bicycle to drive down the hightest mountains and listen to Van H. Morrison at his I-Pod on full volume. I saw his bloody face after trying to walk around with his dog and I'm pretty curious about the results of the most powerfull human being on earth driving down mountains with his I-Pod on full volume.
Questions from Germany,
Dirk

26. What's going on??
First Falwell quotes Pink Floyd, now Numbwit is quoting Van Morrison.

Are they on some 'we need to appear cool'-trip or something?

Tell Van the Man to write a anti-* song !
